Sinclair Nadeau is an acrylic and oil painter and ceramicist from Middle Georgia. Her work explores ideas of the self, the mind, and death, both literally and figuratively in relation to her own experiences. Nadeau is the youngest of two daughters and her sister Sheridan Nadeau is an artist as well, which has been a great source of inspiration even into adulthood, which can be seen in some of the similar motifs in their respective works, though stylistically (Sinclair’s) work lends more towards abstraction. She prefers to make work that brings other people into her world and hopefully to feel what she feels. Pieces representing this intention include her 2021 “Nightmares” painting as well as her “Drained 1” and “Drained 2” paintings depicting abstracted figures in states of distress.

Nadeau has received her associate of arts degree and is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary arts and design at UGA. For the last five years she has worked in flooring and remodeling retail and has used her experience there to inform her work as well. In 2019 Nadeau’s work was selected to be displayed by Middle Georgia State University in their annual show. She has an upcoming Exit Exhibition in April at the Lamar Dodd School of Art.
